For all DIY orders you will need to order the following three items:-

SPD1 - Surface pack

The Surface Pack contains 4 grid panels and their relevant clips. Each panel measures 49cm x 59cm. This means that the maximum area that can be covered by one surface pack is 1.15 square metres. The current U.K. delivered price is £35.00 per Surface Pack, including VAT at 17.5%.

An easy way to calculate how many Surface Packs you will need is:-

the length of your pond in metres, divided by 0.49 will tell you how many lanes of grids you need. (For example, rounding up, a pond measuring 2.3m long would have 5 lanes of grids)
the width of your pond (adjusting for changes in the width) in metres, divided by 0.59 will tell you how many grids there will be in each lane. (For example a pond with a width of 1.7m would have 3 grids in each lane.)
So a pond measuring 2.3m x 1.7m would need a total of 15 grids. As there are 4 grid panels in one Surface Pack, in this example, you would need to order 4 Surface Packs.

SPD2 - Support Pack

The Support Pack contains supporting beams, legs, feet, support cord and other components to support the grids at the water surface.

If your pond is circular or oval or kidney shaped then you will need to order the same number of Support Packs as Surface Packs.
If your pond is square or rectangular, then the number of Support Packs you need is (Surface Packs ordered + 1).

The current U.K. delivered price is £35.00 per Support Pack, including VAT at 17.5%.

SPD3 - The Edge Pack

The Edge Pack contains the components necessary to anchor the SafaDeck to the edge of the pond.

Measure the length of your pond in metres and divide by 0.49 to establish how many lanes of grids you need - round up to the nearest whole number unless the fraction is immaterial.

Then you need to practise a bit of maths -

(Lanes of grids + 1) then divide by 3 equals the number of Edge Packs needed for your pond.

So a pond measuring 2.3m long would need 2 Edge Packs

The current U.K. delivered price is £25.00 per Edge Pack, including VAT at 17.5%.

So the total DIY cost (or UK deliveries) is:

Number of Surface Packs x £35.00 plus,
Number of Support Packs x £35.00 plus,
Number of Edge Packs x £25.00.

Fully Installed

The price of a fully-installed SafaDeck is dependent on your location in the UK (or abroad) and the surface area of the pond to be covered. Effectively, the total amount will be the sum of the DIY pricing above, plus labour time and travel costs. And finally.........

Safapond now use polycarbonate grid panels - made from the same plastic as that used in Police riot shields.

Our support beams are made from black powder-coated aluminium. This means that if you decide to place the SafaDeck just below water level then it will be hardly visible. But remember, we still recommend the SafaDeck goes above water for maximum safety.
